We are now stocking fabulous Poppy Treffry handmade products, which certainly add colour splashes and absolute style to our site!

Poppy Treffry founded her company in 2003 with just one old Singer sewing machine, and since then her range of products has grown and grown.

Many of the textile items are handmade, and still stitched on vintage singers, "lovingly designed" in Penzance, Cornwall.

The collection is all of  a very high quality, quite unique, with delightful designs, incorporating drawings and freehand embroidery too.

We always try to find the unusual or unique!

One such artist is Sarah Jane Brown, who makes the most exquisite hand-knitted wire sculptures.

We have some of her work on our site, including hounds and horses, and a wonderful cat with a long wavy tail.

Sarah Jane Brown also has a collection of tiny scenes of houses and trees, standing on carefully selected driftwood. Each piece is individually distinct.  Some of the trees are made using old newspaper, some are made of metal and have minute details of leaves, birds and fruit.  The little houses are handmade from recycled tin.

Herdy Sheep

We are so excited to announce that we now stock some of the Herdy range. All their products are inspired by the breed of Herdwick Sheep.  These sheep are native to the Lake District in Cumbria, in North West England.

Herdwick Sheep date back to the 12th century, their ancestors were possibly introduced by early Norse settlers during the Viking invasions.  However the breed was first recognised in the 1790's, and has recently been awarded protected status.

Herdwick sheep have coarse grey wool which is an excellent insulator from the harsh winter weather. They are extremely hardy and spend most of the winter months in...

A very Happy New Year to all our customers, and to all  visitors to our website too.

It has certainly started out as a very wet year with so many floods around the country. Rivers have burst their banks and the landscape has transformed into a kind of water world!  Some people are having a dreadful time, evacuating their homes and travelling to safety by boat.  Let's hope it dries up very soon and normality can resume.

On a more cheerful note, the time has come to introduce some new stock. And appropriately it is a batch of well- prepared ducklings as they are all wearing their own special, colourful welly boots, to keep their feet...

Well, as our logo includes an owl I thought it only right that we sell some owls on our site.

The latest owls are Four Little Owls sitting on a Twig! They can be hung up anywhere - in a bedroom, in a hallway, and look really cute.

We also have some tins with an owl picture on the lid. So useful for keeping all kinds of bits and bobs.

There are a few owl purses left too. Mustn't forget them!

So, "owls about" buying somebody an owl for Christmas!  Ruffld would be so happy!

Our family of Guins is expanding!!

We still have our baby Guins in their cute welly boots, but now their parents will be joining them!  Of course they will have matching boots to look just as cool as their offspring - just a little larger!

And not only that, we also have a collection of Pastel Guin babies joining us too.  They are not equipped for jumping in puddles but do have dainty feet instead!

So - now to settle down and compose my first blog ever!!

I suppose the best subject to write about today is the news that our sparkly new hanging hearts and stars covered in tiny bells have appeared on Ruffld. 

Have been busy out in the garden photographing them in stylish poses!!  Such a beautiful sunny afternoon, taking photos to the sound of bees humming, and a brightly coloured butterfly delicately landing close by as we took the final shots. 

We ended up with a choice of twenty or so different pictures but think we chose the right ones in the end! The butterfly was too quick for us!
