The Coronation of King Charles lll

Crowds of people from all around the world lining The Mall and the magnificent streets of London. Bunting and Union Jacks everywhere. Happy, smiling faces out to enjoy this historical event. A great way to forget our dark and dismal days for a few hours. Even the rain didn't dampen peoples spirits - and the colourful umberellas added to the ambiance.

King Charles lll and Queen Camilla arrived at Westminster Abbey in the Diamond Jubilee State Coach, and returned to Buckingham Palace in the Gold State Coach pulled by the magnificent Windsor Greys. They were amongst a procession of immaculate military personnel, dressed in their official uniforms. So smart and perfectly turned out. A real credit to our country. What a spectacle. The horses played an important part too and were a credit to their riders, all performing well with precision and reliability, in front of all the crowds and waving flags.

We were honoured to see the historical and traditional ceremony take place inside Westminster Abbey on our tv's. So lucky to be around now that technology has made this possible. An important moment of our heritage and tradition. A real privilege.

Afterwards we watched the helicopters and Red Arrows in a brilliant fly past, also viewed by the Royal Family on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. Cheered by the crowds around the Queen Victoria Memorial. A culmination of a wonderful day.
